Weapon sights
When a major Prime Contractor needed a high-resolution day/night, near infrared camera module for a new SOCOM weapon sight, they selected the SIONYX XRB-1350. The XRB-1350 near IR camera provides enhanced situational awareness and target engagement in all lighting conditions. Our
high-resolution imaging with low SNR extends the range for Detection,
Recognition, and Identification(DRI) by over 200 meters, and laser designators/pointers can be easily seen. The XRB-1350 Modular Open Systems Approach(MOSA) with standard MIPI interface made for effortless integration, and our pre qualified, field proven XRB-1350 module provided the required high reliability demanded of the warfighter.
SIONYX XRB-1350/1351 camera modules are integrated into some of the most advanced weapon sights currently under development for US SOCOM and Army operators. Chosen by OEMs and Prime Contractors for high performance and easy integration into the most demanding weapon mount applications requiring rugged, accurate and reliable performance. With low Size, Weight, Power and Cost(SWaP-C) and full testing, including weapons shock, the XRB-1350/1351 is an
excellent choice for any Day/Night Weapon Sight.
SIONYX has also developed the ‘Holy Grail’ of full digital fusion with the XRB-1351 and thermal cameras involving Fused Color Imaging, supporting Targeting/ISR in all lighting conditions. The color enhancement
provides added situational awareness vs standard ‘white hot/black hot’ of traditional thermal imaging. Our system architecture supports XRB-1351 integration with many available thermal cameras, thus providing options to meet mission objectives.

UAV
SIONYX has integrated our XRB-1350 family of camera modules into multiple Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAV) supporting navigation and targeting objectives for daytime and nighttime missions. The exceptional low light performance of the XRB-1350 camera allows for excellent imaging at moonless starlight conditions and below, with ultra-low latency and fast frame rates. With both digital and analog interfaces available, the XRB-1350 is ideally suited for the following UAV applications: First Person View(FPV)/Remote Targeting, GPS Denied Environments, Collision Avoidance, and Drone-on-Drone Seeking.

Gimbals & ISR
Apache Targeting Camera – The Apache PMO has turned to SIONYX and our high resolution XRB-1351 camera module to upgrade their Modernized Target Acquisition Designation Sight(M-TADS) in the Apache gimbal. Our XRB-1351 camera module meets the stringent government requirements to
provide enhanced situational awareness to the pilot with color imagery during day and night operations. The cameras extreme
low light performance (moonless starlight), extends the operational environments for the pilot.
SIONYX has also developed the NightScan camera for rugged and demanding Unattended Ground Sensor / ISR applications.
NightScanTM is compatible with fielded radios and is the go-to choice for battery operated or Power over Ethernet(PoE) ISR applications with complete remote control via the Web interface.

Helmet Mounted
SIONYX has integrated our XRB-1350 family of camera modules into multiple head worn imaging solutions. The ultra low latency attributes of the XRB-1350 enable fast frame rate head worn solutions with no lag. This can be found in the OPSIN helmet mounted
camera and in the first generation IVAS system delivered to the US Army.

Vehicle DVE
SIONYX XRB-1350/1351 Camera Modules have been chosen by DoD Prime Contractors and tested by the US Army for integration into armored combat vehicles for improved Driver Visual Enhancement(DVE). Candidate platforms include Bradley, Stryker and Abrams. The XRB-1350/1351 Camera Module is an ideal choice due to it’s low SWaP-C and high performance and can function as a
stand-alone camera system or to augment existing thermal camera systems where
operational gaps can be filled. Thermal cameras alone are challenged in weather
conditions where ‘thermal equilibrium’ makes it difficult to detect hazards while driving and accidents have occurred with lives lost. The XRB-1350/1351 fills this gap. Additionally, the XRB-1350/1351 makes it economical to add full 360º DVE, greatly improving Situational Awareness over existing front & rear systems.

Targeting
Targeting and Designation missions have become increasingly challenged with extended operational ranges and with compromised Position, Navigation & Timing(PNT), especially in GPS jammed environments. To address this challenge, DoD Prime contractors are turning to the SIONYX Camera Modules for Seekers, See Spot imagers and Celestial compass applications. Our exceptional day/night imaging performance has been field tested under live fire with 1 meter CEP missile
guidance accuracy at full range during a recent missile test. Celestial navigation is also greatly improved by SIONYX detection of dimmer stars, even under difficult lighting conditions.

Satellite
SIONYX high-performance camera modules are designed into several CubeSats deployed 2018-2024 and are still fully functioning today. One of the applications in these satellites is a miniature SIONYX ‘Star Tracker’ camera modules. SIONYX low SWaP-C allows for a larger lens, and coupled with our high imaging performance, the attitude
control is greatly enhanced. Celestial navigation is also greatly improved by
SIONYX detection of more and dimmer stars. Our latest generation XRB-1350 module has an order of magnitude improved imaging in a similar small SWaP-C package.
